Geeeez, do I have a story to tell you guys... Because of a series of events at NAC (where our site was physically hosted), our site as well as the whole datacenter went down mid-morning on May 28, 2003 because of several faults that triggered the fire alarm at the datacenter. You can read more about the issue at NAC's site here.

We are now back online, and due to the communication between me and the host we minimised any data loss. Since we were down for a few days, I have to redeem myself so I finished the Races Module. It will be released later tonight. You can visit our forum and see some of the stuff that has been added or you can see our Races Database for a live demo.

Well, I suppose by now that you realized that this has underwent some changes (for the better I hope). The reasoning behind these changes are to make the site's main page easier to follow. Admittingly this looks very different, but most things are now organised better. The bulk of the menus can be seen on the left of the site.as well as all other necessary info. Also I think this new main page better reflects the purpose of this site and the reason I put it online. Be sure to check the Forums for some announcements I've posted regarding the site, and some info about the game. There was also some minor changes done to the site code, so if you see any problems post in the forums and let us know so I can look into it and fix it.

Oh, if you're reading this on the main page you'll be able to find site updates posted on the page here (obviously). Or you can just view the news separately using the Main Menu.

This is only one of many planned updates to the site. Be sure to keep you're eyes peeled.

First off... HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

As you may have noticed, we have completed the database update, but as a side-effect is, the forum didnt like the change and is refusing to cooperate. As a result I have removed all the posts from the forum. Yes, this pisses me off just as much as you . It's a new year, so how bout a fresh start in the forum anyway? I still have the posts archived in case if I ever manage to be able to restore them, I will.

UPDATE: I have managed to get the forum topics back.

Also, beginning today a couple changes will take effect regarding site news topics. The changes are as follows:

• Game News - This will be any game related news regarding its future development (hint, hint)
• PHP-Nuke - This will be for any PHP-Nuke related news such as my new mods, themes, hacks, addons, etc
• User Submitted - This is for any registered user who wishes to submit some news. It can pretty much be about anything. I urge all users to submit anything they find interesting and they feel might interest other users.
• Site News - Any news regarding the site will be posted under this topic
• System News - This is any updates or ideas regarding the system used by 2 The Xtreme. This includes changes that will affect the online version (yet another vague hint about 2 The Xtreme's future as a RPG ).
• I'm going to also start posting some news from the views of a reporter named "Melissa Arcadia", some of you may remember her. Any news posted under her will be things that happen in the 2 The Xtreme universe just to give a "feel" for whats going on. Whenever the game resumes, after I turn in a first draft (another hint) this will allow people to keep caught up on what has happened. Post-Games will be summerized by a news story posted by "Melissa". if you're curious about Melissa, here is a pictuire of her.

2003 will definately be a good year for 2 The Xtreme because I have some excellent stuff planned. This will also be a good year for the PHP-Nuke addons I make, but they will start to have more of an RPG use.

I bet you noticed our new download system. After getting slammed by people using mass downloading software (that isn't already banned on our site) I have edited the downloads module to help combat this problem. I might possibly distribute the source for this mod.
